Specific Conspiracy Beliefs Scale

Where the Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale asks about conspiracies in the abstract, this test asks about 44 specific claims. A 30-item core covers the six clusters of conspiracist belief found in a 2022 study of self-identified conspiracy theorists (Zimmer, 2024): generic distrust of government and media, aliens and Satanism, flat Earth and germ-theory denial, Jewish conspiracy, faked history, and climate change, plus three COVID-19 claims. Further blocks, not counted in the total, cover alternative health, four conspiracies that are documented historical fact, and four that were invented for this test. Rate how likely each statement is to be true on a 5-point scale. Percentiles compare you with a 2022 sample of 176 people recruited from conspiracy communities, and with the 77 of them who called themselves conspiracy theorists; it is not a general-population sample, and most of it scores at the top of the shorter scales, so a high score can still land at a middling percentile there. The bars show your score within each scale's range.
